Everything You Know about Bathing is Wrong

Yup... just like that time your friend let you cheat off them on that IQ test...

It may seem weird that a soap company is telling you that you can live life just fine without soap... mostly... but don't mistake that to mean that you don't have to bathe.

You need to bathe... regularly... PLEASE!!! I hate walking by those non-bathers... they stink like a high school locker room! But that being said... you don't need to use soap... often!

Let me explain...

Disclaimer... I would still use soap on your pits, balls, and ass... and maybe your feet... but the rest of you really doesn't need it. Make damn sure you wash your hands after going to the bathroom... I see waaaaaaaayyy too many jackasses coming out of a stall and walking right out of the bathroom! What... are you in that much of a hurry to get back to your beer and the brunch table?

What your skin needs is to have the dead skin, sweat, dirt, pollutants, and body oil washed off regularly.

You DO NOT necessarily need soap for that.

What works wonders for healthy skin is a damp wash cloth... and only the wash cloth. No soap.

Try it!

Get in the shower, wet the cloth, and wash your face with it... without soap. Tomorrow, touch your forehead and see how smooth it feels. I think you will be quite surprised.

You don't have to scrub hard. You aren't sanding down an old coffee table to refinish... you are just gently exfoliating with the washcloth. If you want to make an even bigger difference on your skin... after you dry off, apply a few drops of sweet almond oil to your hands and then rub it into the skin on your face.

But if I don't use soap I won't be clean!

Eye Roll

You aren't an operating room at the hospital prepping for open heart surgery! You don't need to be completely disinfected! In fact, some of the bacteria on your skin is necessary and helpful to your survival! You also have a layer over your skin called the Acid Mantle which also protects your skin from harmful bacteria and pollutants. Soap removes this layer and breaks down the connective proteins that hold your skin cells together. When this happens, your skin loses it's ability to hold moisture and like a slowly deflating balloon... your skin's natural plumpness goes along with it. You start to resemble Will Ferrell's wrinkled ball sack as seen in Stepbrothers... probably not appropriate for kids.

Why do you think men age better than women? Aside from genetics... nature has given men thicker skin...

literally and not always figuratively... thanks pajama boy! Women are constantly putting on makeup to look good for us... and then drying out their faces with cleansers and soaps when they take it off.

In all fairness... not all cleansers are harsh. In fact, some are very good at providing a gentle cleansing which does not damage the skin. Women probably could use water alone to wash their skin but with some of the ingredients used in makeup being oil based... they just smear. I have never worn makeup so I'm just speaking from research.

Water Temperature

I know a hot shower feels good... but it is REALLY bad for your skin.

Yes the hot water raises the temperature of your body oils allowing them to dissipate... and your pores to open up... but that also means that your natural oils are gone for a period of time until they regenerate and recover your skin.

The elimination of your natural body oils... (think pheromones) as mentioned before, allows the escape of moisture from your skin. Thin skin is wrinkly skin.

Climate

Where you live may not help your skin either. If you live in Hawaii, your skin is probably just fine... but if you live in a place like Calgary Alberta which is as dry as death's fart... it's even more important to NOT dry your skin out!
